A late 19th-century French giltwood pedestal base in the Rococo Revival style, with beautifully curvaceous edges and a rich gold-leaf finish. Raised on four bun feet, this petite display base features a tooled diamond pattern on the top and a delicate beaded border—details that reflect the ornate craftsmanship typical of French decorative arts during this period. Condition:
This piece shows noticeable wear consistent with age and use. The gilt surface has flaking and loss, especially along the raised corners and edges, exposing areas of the underlying gesso and wood.
