At the top edges and corners the plate has worn thin and the base metal shows through as a coppery tone, which you can see clearly in the photos. The engraved top has light surface scratches and some dullness to the finish. The underside is unfinished and shows tarnish, scattered oxidation spots, and handling marks, none of which are visible when the piece is in use. At one corner the top edge and its rope-twist border have bent slightly out of true and the seam has opened a little at the join, which you can see in the close-up photos. It is stable and sits flat, but the corner is not perfectly square. All four feet are present and solid. The rope-twist borders are otherwise intact. It has not been repolished or replated, so what you see is the surface as it has aged. A silver polish would brighten it considerably if you want a shinier look, or it can be left as is for a softer antique tone.
