A round French café table of the kind that once filled Parisian sidewalks and brasseries, with a pale veined marble top set on a fluted cast iron pedestal that splays into three scrolled feet. The compact size makes it a natural two-seater for a breakfast corner or an entry, or a generous side table beside a chair. The top has cleaned up to a soft bright white with grey veining running through the stone.

Condition

Structurally sound and standing solidly on its cast iron tripod base. The marble top rests on the base in its original manner and is stable.

The marble top has a crack that runs through the stone to the edge; this is disclosed plainly as a structural condition of the top. It is common in antique café marbles of this age and does not affect the table's stability in normal use, but it is a permanent flaw and the top should be handled and moved with care. The top has been cleaned and presents as a bright, soft white with natural grey veining and only faint remaining surface marks; light iron-oxide spotting is present in places. The underside is hand-finished and rough, with oxidation and old bedding residue at the mounting plate that match the age of the base, indicating the top and base have been together for a very long time. The marble surface is unpolished, in its cleaned but unrestored state.

The cast iron base retains worn original black paint with surface oxidation and rust bloom in the recesses of the casting. The column joins the feet at a threaded cast plate with long-oxidized hardware. There is raised cast detail on the base but no legible foundry name.

The date is given as a construction-and-wear-based estimate from the hand-finished marble underside, the aged threaded union, and the character of the casting; there is no maker's mark or dated stamp. All dimensions are as measured. Sold as-is; photographs are part of the description and govern.
