The jewelled gold crown on the front of this V&A catalogue tells you what you are getting before you open it. Gothic: Art for England 1400 to 1547 is the book that accompanied the Victoria and Albert Museum's landmark 2003 exhibition, edited by Richard Marks and Paul Williamson. Across 496 pages it gathers tapestries, illuminated manuscripts, sculpture, jewellery, church plate, and royal portraiture from the last great age of English medieval art, with 410 colour plates and essays by the leading scholars of the period. A heavy folio in glossy black boards, it reads as well on a library table as it does open on a stand, and the subject puts it squarely in the world of English royalty and ecclesiastical splendour.
The boards are clean and square with a bright, unworn dust jacket. The text block is clean and tight throughout, free of foxing, inscriptions, and previous owner markings. Light handling wear consistent with a folio of this weight. A very good to near fine copy that displays beautifully.

All antique and vintage items are shipped from our warehouse in Bluffdale, Utah. Each piece is carefully packed by hand using archival materials and custom crating when necessary.
Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on the size and weight of the item. Local pickup is available at the AMD Warehouse.
All sales of antique and vintage items are final due to their unique, one-of-a-kind nature. Illuminé candles and The Collector's Guide may be returned within 14 days of delivery if unopened and in original condition.
