One andiron-12” H x 8” W x 4" D

Circa 1880–1910

A stunning pair of Neoclassical Louis XVI-style brass andirons, beautifully cast and richly detailed, circa 1880–1910. Featuring classical urn finials topped with eternal flames and flanked by torch motifs, this pair embodies the timeless symmetry and elegance of the late 18th-century French aesthetic. Decorative swags and pierced side panels add depth and dimension to the design, while the architectural base grounds the pair with stately presence.

These antique andirons were likely crafted during the Belle Époque or early Edwardian period, when the revival of classical design was at its peak in both Europe and America.

Condition:

In good antique condition with visible patina and oxidation consistent with age. The brass surface shows areas of greenish verdigris, especially in recessed and detailed sections, which adds to their authenticity and charm. One andiron shows slightly more wear and darker patina than the other, suggesting they’ve aged naturally as a pair over time. No structural damage noted, and all cast elements are intact. Minor surface irregularities are original to the casting process.
