Antique Carved Oak Display Riser
Antique Carved Oak Display Riser
Couldn't load pickup availability
A low oak riser carries a band of hand-carved acanthus scrollwork along its front edge, the kind of Continental carving vocabulary that shows up again and again on Renaissance Revival case pieces. Raised on two feet, it was made to lift something else into view, a bowl, a small bust, a planted urn, rather than to be the object itself. The decoration is saved entirely for the front, with the sides and back left plain.
This riser is in good, presentable condition. The top surface carries two water ring stains, visible as darker circular marks, left by something that once sat on it. The carved front edge and moldings show only light, age-appropriate wear at the raised high points, with the carving elsewhere crisp and undamaged in the photographs. Please review all photographs closely, as they form part of this description.
