A compact desk lamp with a shallow trough shade that tilts on its arm, made to throw a low band of light straight down across whatever you are reading. The shade takes a long tube bulb rather than a round one, which is why the light lands as a line rather than a pool. The scalloped base and curved arm give it more shape than most working lamps of its size.

There is surface rust on the cast base and on the hardware, along with spotting and darkened areas. The brass on the shade and arm has oxidized and darkened unevenly across the surface, with lighter and darker patches throughout. There is general surface wear on all sides.

The wiring has not been established as first to the lamp. The cord and socket appear to have been worked on at some point, and the lamp takes an E26 bulb, which is the standard North American size. I am describing what is present rather than calling any of it original.

The shade tilts and holds its position.

AMD strongly recommends having the piece inspected and, if needed, rewired by a licensed electrician before use. It is sold as a decorative item, and Austyn Marie Design is not responsible or liable for any malfunction, damage, or injury resulting from its use or electrical operation.

Important Info About Antique & Vintage

Every antique and vintage item we carry has lived a life before arriving in your home. These are not factory-made products. They are objects with history, character, and the marks of time.

Age-appropriate wear, patina, minor imperfections, and signs of previous use or repair are inherent to antique and vintage items and are not considered defects. These characteristics are part of what makes each piece unique and are often what give it its beauty and value.

We describe the condition of each piece as accurately as possible in the listing. If you have specific questions about a piece before purchasing, please reach out. We are always happy to provide additional photos or details.

Colors may appear slightly different on screen due to monitor settings and photography lighting. We do our best to represent each item accurately.

Descriptions, dates, attributions, materials, and measurements are provided in good faith and reflect our best assessment based on research, physical examination, and the information available to us. Antique and vintage pieces often carry incomplete or unverifiable histories. Where a detail is an assessment rather than a confirmed fact, it is identified as such. Measurements are approximate.
