I picked this one up in England, though the label underneath tells the real story: it reads Hecho en Mexico, so it was made in Mexico and traveled from there. It is a simple tall cylinder in painted metal, finished to resemble aged copper or corten steel, with warm reddish-brown tones and vertical striping that give it a weathered look. The stripped-down cylindrical form and raw industrial finish carry a brutalist feel, and the clean lines suit modern, Japandi, wabi-sabi, and industrial interiors. The narrow form works well for dried stems or tall branches.
Good vintage condition with age-appropriate wear. The painted finish shows minor surface scuffs and light variation across the exterior, consistent with age and handling, which adds to the weathered look. The interior shows surface oxidation and wear, and the vase is not watertight, so it is best used for dried arrangements or as a decorative piece rather than with fresh water. The structure is sound with no dents or damage to the form. Felt pads on the base are intact. A paper import label reading Hecho en Mexico remains on the underside along with remnants of other stickers.
