A vintage portrait medallion in a shallow dished gilt metal frame, depicting a young woman in Romantic-era dress with a kokoshnik-style headdress. The subject and costume draw from the Regency and early Romantic period, and the frame itself is characteristic of mid-20th century Florentine souvenir and gift trade work, with its engine-turned inner border, domed profile, and chain suspension. A paper label on the reverse bears a heraldic rampant lion design.
Good vintage condition. The gilt metal frame shows light wear and some tarnishing consistent with age, heaviest on the high points of the rim. The portrait image is intact beneath the acrylic cover with no visible damage or lifting. The chain suspension is present and functional. The paper label on the reverse is intact.
